So in this case "millions" just isn't enough to pay the bills. Out of 50+ million users, only a few million were paying customers. You will not be able to present your photos to free users without them seeing ads.
PICBACKMAN UPLOADS FOLDERS INTO GOOGLE PHOTOS ALBUMS PRO
If you want to stop your Pro subscription, but later change your mind, You will be able to not see ads on Flickr pages. People who visit your photos don't see ads on your pages. No ads to you or to anyone visiting your pages. So, what are the benefits of a renewed pro account? No space limit and no adds? It's entirely likely that giving free users very little kept site growth down. Will they ignore this in favour of a ad paid site?Īn ad-paid site that gives a lot, not a little, to free users could attract more users who see the ads. They have/had millions of paying costumers. Howcome they don't want people to pay anymore? I just don't understand this business model. Who said that you have to fill all the 1 TB space ?Īnd remember: this 1TB is also for videos.

There is some kind of people who will complain about everything. Syncing has other possible downsides, as it can be tricky to control in order to not accidentally delete or replace Flickr photos. Most of the timeout problems that used to be reported here involved batches of 300+ photos. Both, however, can time out on you - as could larger batches from the on-site tools before Flickr put the 200-photo batch limit on here. There are third-party upload tools that can take more, as can syncing with photo organizing software. So their efforts will be to give people more reason to choose the free account. However, with Flickr's new business model, they don't want people to pay anymore, at all. Once the dust settles on the big changes that would definitely be a good place for them to improve basic site functions. I don't think it's arbitrary, I think it's a technical limitation of whatever backend they're using to handle file transfers. Give us a reason to keep paying.Ĭoussier edited this topic 113 months ago. Where did you see such a thing? There is a 200mb per photo limit, which is actually pretty generous (most photos will be around 5-20 mb).įlickr should expand that limit to paying accounts. I think 1000 should be the lowest a limit of this type should be, but I'd prefer to see no limit at all. I suspect Flickr has the sense to change this but, assuming they do not, or until they do, I wonder if some third party will introduce an uploader with more capability.

However, I will say that the Flickr user interface is overly complex and confusing and the Android app is pretty lame, but my only *real* complaint is that 200-file upload limit. It's amazingly great and instantly made me a Flickr convert. I'm not going to complain about getting a terabyte for free. It's two separate issues they hit flikr users with - pricing/storage structure and the horrible new design. (1 terabyte can hold 100,000 10 meg shots) - yes some people say "I can fill i t up with my 36meg D800" - but you still have over 25,000 I would not want to trust my media to an online service - thats why I bought a 1 ter external from newegg for $60.Īnd I truely am curious - it can't be easy to organize 100,000 shots I'm curious about the utilization of the 1 ter flkr offers. I've got a 1 terabyte HD in my machine and an external 1 ter HD for backup. Someone once said: 640K of memory ought to be enough for anybody. It equal 100,000 files that are 10meg each Who can really use 1 terabyte of storage? flickr looks a lot better but is still a beast to use.
PICBACKMAN UPLOADS FOLDERS INTO GOOGLE PHOTOS ALBUMS HOW TO
Me too, can someone figure out how to upload more than 200 pics? I hope this will change, either with a web interface with more uploading count, or a better client app that is up to date (the uploadr app hasn't been uploaded in a while.) The 1TB is kinda pointless when there are such hurdles to clear in order to take advantage of it.

The old uploadr application on PC still uses old uploading limits as guidelines, so it's also impossible to upload more than a few photos before the limits are reached.

However, there's no way to upload more than 200 photos as the uploading interface caps at 200.
